Dave Melvin Atteberry, 65, of Durant Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017, from complications of COPD. Dave was born to Edsel Ray Atteberry and Mary Jane (Proctor) Atteberry on October 22, 1952, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Dave graduated from Del City High School and later relocated to Durant, Oklahoma. He worked as an owner-operator truck driver until he retired in 2015 due to his health issues.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson. He is survived by 3 children; Stephanie Stewart of Denison, Texas, Laura Anthony of Norman, Oklahoma and Dave Atteberry Jr. of Durant, Oklahoma. He also is survived by 4 grandchildren and several extended family members.

Dave will be cremated and has asked for his ashes to be spread across the country as he never lost his passion for truck driving.
