Casterline, David A.David A. Casterline, age 81, of Odessa, NY and formerly of Corning, NY died Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. Dave was born on May 5, 1935 in Cohocton, NY to Fred and Ruth (Drake) Casterline. He was predeceased by his wife JoAnna Glover in 1998. He was employed by Corning Glass Works for over 35 years as a tinsmith.David was an avid fisherman, loved spending time with others and watching baseball. He will be remembered for being a loving and caring dad and grandpa to so many more than just his own. Every day he would set out to make each day a better day. Whether it was delivering meals, buying flowers or his daily hello at the local store, he always enjoyed making others happy. He is survived by his daughter Brenda DuVall of Odessa; brother, Barry Casterline of Ft. Worth, TX; granddaughters, Trishia (Derrick) Alexander of Horseheads, Andrea DuVall of Corning, and Brianna (Russell Crainey) West of Odessa; great grandchildren, Sammi, Adreanna, Emmarie, and Russell; his best four legged pal "Sam"; sister-in-law, Kay Casterline of Wooster, OH; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, David Casterline, and brothers, Dale and Fred Jr. Casterline. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 7th from 1 - 3 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning where funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM. Burial will be in Maple View Cemetery in Cohocton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels of Chemung County, 409 William St., Elmira, NY 14901 or to the Chemung County Humane Society, 2435 State Route 352, Elmira, NY 14903.
