Buckmaster, DavidDavid R. Buckmaster, age 69, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017 after a long illness. He was born on June 4, 1947, the youngest of four siblings to Harvey and Mabel (Carlsson) Buckmaster in Stevens Point. David attended local schools and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School. He entered military service during the Vietnam era, received a Congressional Appointment to the Military Academy at West Point, New York, and was honorably discharged; after which he attended a Wisconsin State University majoring in Mathematics and Chemistry. David began employment with United Parcel Service in a career capacity, and after sixteen years ventured into the entertainment, food and beverage, and gaming industries which allowed him to experience a wide range of activities, world-wide employment and travel, culminating in experience with computer and technological skills on a professional and personal level, and continued with that industry until health matters restricted his participation.David's love of life and people opened many avenues during his lifetime, and he enjoyed athletic participation in football, golf, tennis, and various other sports.David was three times married, to beloved Anna, Mary Ann, and Susan, and the father of one daughter, Jennifer Lynn (Jason) Drallmeier, and blessed with three grandchildren, Tyler, Ashley, and Jena, and loved them immensely.David was actively involved with several Veteran Organizations, specifically those which focused on Vietnam Veterans, and often volunteered his time and efforts on their behalf.David's later years were consumed with health considerations, yet enjoyed what participation and help he could be with others, particularly the elderly and disabled.David was fortunate to have met thousands of people in the course of his life's activities in America and throughout the World, and enjoyed the many cultures and peoples he had the opportunity to associate with. He had a strong belief in God as a Universal Spiritual Being, and for those who knew David, he will be genuinely missed.He is survived by is sister, Yvonee, Grube. David is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Harvey and Gerry Buckmaster. Funeral services for David will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London with Parish Director Greg Layton officiating. Family and friends are invited to visit directly at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wisconsin, Rapids, WI.
