David C. Ohrman, age 55, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at home surrounded by his family in Yuma, AZ. He was born on February 21, 1956 in Reno, NV. David grew up in Sparks, Nevada and attended Greenbrae Elementary School, Dilworth Middle School, and graduated from Sparks High School in 1974 where he played varsity football. He started his professional career after high school in Sparks, where he went to work for William F. Harrah, at Harrah's Automobile collection. He also worked as a purchasing agent, and warehouse manager for John Ascuaga's Nugget in Sparks. David, very much enjoyed working as a warehouse manager in Reno, for MCA Universal Music. His passion was sending greeting cards to brighten people's day and helping others to become senders of cards. David was an usher at St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Sparks, and later a Lay Eucharistic Minister at Trinity Episcopal Church in Reno. He was involved in start ups of non-profit agencies including Interfaith Hospitality Network in Reno, Nevada and Kid's Kafe in Sparks and was a member of the Sparks Host Lions for many years. David enjoyed trout fishing, water skiing, camping, organic gardening, and creating beautiful outdoor spaces. In 2004 David and his family came to Yuma, Arizona to enjoy the warmer weather. David is survived by his wife Claudia; son Jonathan Ohrman; daughters Amanda Ohrman and Christine Ohrman, and granddaughters Italia, and Kenya. David was preceded in death by his father, Carl H. Ohrman, and his mother Betty (Ohrman) Mallery. Memorial services are planned for some time in May of 2012 in the Bridgeport, CA. area.Please sign the guestbook at
