David S. Cain LYNDON--David S. Cain, 59, passed away on June 19, 2016 near Ottawa, Kansas. He was born on March 18, 1957 In Evansville, Indiana, the son of Carl and Wanda Shockly Cain. David grew up in Indiana and had lived in the Lyndon community for the last 20 years. David was a truck driver until getting a job as a jailer for the Osage County Sheriff's Department. He would then serve as Osage County Sheriff from 1993 to 1997. He had worked for Torgeson Electric in Topeka and was currently working for McElroy's Electric. He had served in the United States Army and was a member of the IBEW Local #226. His hobbies included fishing, boating, riding his Harley, working on his cars and doing yard work. He was also a cancer survivor. On September 4, 1993 David was married to Deronda Clark in Lyndon. David was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Wanda; a sister, Carla Conia and a grandson. David is survived by his wife Deronda of the home; three sons, David J. Cain of Missouri, David M. Cain of Topeka and Ryan Clark of Lyndon; four daughters, Angi McGuinn and Jennifer Miles, both of Evansville, Indiana, Amanda Burd of Osage City and Samantha Vandevord of Burlingame; two brothers, Kenny Cain and Robert Reynolds; four sisters, Debra Buchanan, Brenda Settle, Martha Ann Jackson and Deena Lenn; sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Memorial services for David will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, November 12, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until service time on Saturday. Inurnment will be in Evansville at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the David Cain Memorial Fund, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, Kansas 66451.
