David D. Davies,63, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 8, 2019.He was born in Needham Heights, Mass. to William R Davies and Benita Oppenheim Davies. He was the fourth of five boys.
Dave is predeceased by his parents, and younger brother, Joe. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Paula, two sons, Tyler and Jeffrey, his brothers Bill(Bev), Mike (Rorie), Stve (pam) and neices and nephews Ben Davies, Sarah Seely, Marie Davies, Katy Balyeat,Michael Davies, Kim Davies, Ramie Davies, Cody Burman, Shelby Burman, and David James Davies.
Dave grew up in Diablo, Ca. and Bay Village, Ohio. He had a successful high school athletic career in both baseball and football. He followed that by playing football for Marietta College in 1975-76. He also played baseball for Marietta in the Division III National Championship. Dave played AAA baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates for two years. Later he trained as a carpenter and worked as a master cabinet maker for 35 years.
Dave married Paula in 1988 after meeting on a blind date. They moved to Carson City, Nv in the early 90s where they raised their two sons. In his free time Dave enjoyed coaching his sons in tee ball, Little League, and high school. He loved to build furniture for family and friends, fish, and follow college basketball and football. He was an avid Ohio State fan along with Duke basketball and the Cleveland Browns.
Dave was a devoted husband and father and he will be grealty missed. All who knew him remember his wit, generous heart, knack for sports knowledge and worrdly rivia, which he put to use watching Jeopary every night.
Rest in Peace dear Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, and friend.
At Dave's request there will be no service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
