David Edgar OjedaNaples, FLDr. David Edgar Ojeda of Naples, Florida passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 in Flushing, Michigan surrounded by his loving wife and children and dear friends Jamie and Maureen Ballesteros. A memorial mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan with Monsignor Jerry Vincke officiating. Dr. Ojeda was born on November 16, 1933 in Barranquilla, Colombia, the son of the late Adriano and Eudosia (Navas) Ojeda. He Graduated from The Universidad de Nuevo León in Monterrey, Mexico with a medical degree and emigrated to Flint, Michigan in 1963. After completing a residency in Anaesthesiology from Henry Ford Hospital in 1968 he returned to the Flint area where he founded Anaesthesia Associates of Southeastern Michigan and practiced at Hurley Medical Center for 25+ years. He then practiced for 10+ years at Lapeer Regional Hospital, followed by Park Eye Surgery Center with Fritz Bruening, MD until his retirement in 2007 at age 75 years. Dr. Ojeda is survived by his wife Darcy, daughter Teresa Rondot (Husband Ben), Sons Mark (wife- Katharine, children- Henry & Molly), Bradley (wife- Janie, children-Sophia & Sydney), and Trevor Monroe (wife Stephanie). He is also survived by brother Tico Ojeda (wife – Elvira) and sister Julita Medrano and many nieces and nephews.Dr. Ojeda is preceded in death by sisters Marina Cervilla and Mimi Ferguson and brothers Oscar and Alonso Ojeda.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Parkinson Association of Southwest Florida (
