On Wednesday, July 10th, 2019, the closely knit community of Rusk, Tx suffered the loss of a true pillar within. David Ezekiel Nelson, retired business owner, Army veteran, and Past Worshipful Master of the 32nd degree within The Masonic Lodge, member of the Masonic Temple of Palestine, and a member of Shriners International; father of two, grandfather of six, great grandfather of 3, will be surely missed.

David was held in highest esteem within the local community of Masonic Temples and frequently offered his services to charity events driven by Shriners International.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carla Beth Nelson, and their children, Michael David Nelson and Mary Janel Nelson. Grandchildren; Joshua Michael Datray, Rachael Dawn Callahan, Zachary David Maynard, Damien Luke Nelson, Devon Conner Nelson, and Jonah Ezekiel Nelson. Great Grandchildren; Tobias Lee Smith, Jamoy Lee Smith, and Isabella Trinidad Datray.
