David Kerecman, 74, a resident of Dothan, Ala., passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Flowers are being accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Covenant United Methodist Church, Patti Rutland Jazz, SEADAC, or the Headland Diamond Club. Dave was born on August 8, 1942, in Meadville, Pa., graduated from Meadville High School in 1960, and graduated from the Technical Institute of Alliance College in Cambridge Springs, Pa. in 1963. He was employed with the General Electric Motor Plant from 1965 to 2000, in Erie, Pa. from 1965 to1979 and in Dothan, Ala. from 1979 to 2000, where he retired as a Quality Control officer. Dave was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Dothan and was a previous member of the
Elks Lodge and the Corvette Club in Presque Isle, Erie, Pa. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, working in his gardens and tinkering on his corvettes. He was a fan of working Sudoku puzzles, visiting bluegrass festivals across the U.S., going to Callaway Gardens and hanging out at the Todd Syrup Farm. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Katherine June Kerecman of Dothan, Ala.; his daughters, Anna Marie (Todd) Dailey of Headland, Ala. and Amy Louise (Joshua) Rainwater of Dothan, Ala.; his grandchildren, Tyler Scott, Emily Kayte, and Jacob Daniel; his brothers, Dr. Richard (Nancy) Kerecman of Cornelius, N.C. and Daniel (Dyanne) Kerecman of Cotopaxi, Colo.; his sister, Dianne (Guy) Savelli of Kirtland, Ohio; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marjorie Kerecman. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Rainwater, Todd Dailey, Ty Dailey, Brannon Bass, Jacob Waters, Jake Rainwater, and Andrew Davis.
