David Leo Powell1944 ~ 2016David Leo Powell (K7OJU), 72, passed away on November 26, 2016 of complications due to congestive heart failure. Dave was born on April 13, 1944 to Leo Wilbur and Kathryn Hoffman Powell in Altadena, CA, and was the first of their 6 children. Dave grew up in the Millcreek area and he married Linda Wardle on September 9, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had 4 children. Dave had a successful career as an electrical engineer and especially enjoyed the designing and building of medical equipment. Dave had many hobbies throughout his life and especially loved ham radio, motorcycling, skiing, snowmobiling, trap shooting , and golfing. Dave also loved to travel, especially with his wife, Linda. Dave was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He dearly loved his wife of 50 years and dedicated his life to his wife, his children, grandchildren and dear friends. He will be greatly missed. David Leo Powell is survived by his loving wife, Linda of North Salt Lake, his daughters, Britney (Boyd) Liddiard of Sandy, Christina (Mark) Poullos of Grand Prairie, TX, and Tamsyn (Rusty) Webster of Francis, and his dearly loved grandchildren (ten) Lynzi (Tekai), Bryon (Destany), Nicole (Eric), Tyler, Jared, Emily, Megan, Chase, Kaitlin, Sage, and great-grandchildren (two) Zoey, and Chloe. Survived by his siblings, Eloise Carlston (Jan) , Diane Degner, Ed Powell (Lisa), and Jeff Powell (Barbara). He is preceded in death by his son Matthew David, his parents, and his sister, Rosemary Jorgensen. The funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 29th at 11:00 AM at the Foxhill Ward Chapel at 200 S. Eagleridge Dr. in North Salt Lake. Friends may visit with family from 9:00 am to 10:45 am prior to the funeral services. Internment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
