David G. MyersYorkDavid G. Myers, 83, died peacefully, Sunday, May 21, 2017 at SpiriTrust Lutheran-The Village at Sprenkle Drive. He was born on January 26, 1934 in Nanticoke, the son of the late William H. and Laura Joyce (Kennedy) Myers. Dave was the loving husband of Lois C. (Killian) Myers, she died May 14, 2011.Dave was a longtime and active member of York Alliance Church, he was a former Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and Church Board member. He retired from York International, where he worked as a technical writer for 30 years. Dave was the publications chairman of the York International 25 year Club and was a member of the York Township Lions Club. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and hunting, especially at the hunting camp in Clearfield County, "The Schaque". Dave was an avid Penn State Football fan and for many years served as an usher for the Nittany Lion's at Beaver Stadium. Dave is survived by his sons, David J. Myers of Orrtanna and Todd Allen Myers of York; and his sisters, Jean Pratt of Little Rock, AR and Marian Horn of Nanticoke. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond, Herman, and William Myers.A funeral service for Dave will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York, with the Reverend Timothy Shuey officiating. Private interment will be held in Mount Rose Cemetery.
