David Neal "Red" Stevenson, of Sherman, Tx passed away on November 17, 2016. He was 57 years old.David was born on July 21, 1959 in Dallas, TX. He graduated from Sherman High School in 1977. He was a general contractor who could do anything that needed to be done, and ran Stevenson Construction for many, many years. In addition, David spent time working as a bartender at several popular local establishments. He seemed to run across people that he knew from these two careers almost everywhere he went. David was a lover of storytelling, laughter, country and southern rock music, playing his guitar and singing, barbecuing, and precious family time. He met no stranger and developed deep friendships, some of which were 40 years strong. David was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia in 2009 and met the disease with grace and strength. He found strength in loved ones and in his relationship with his church, Grace United Methodist Church, in Sherman. The valuable relationships that David made in his Pathfinders Sunday school class remained a source of comfort to him even after his diagnosis.David is survived by his children, James Stevenson and wife Stephanie of Oklahoma City, OK, Greg Stevenson of Durant, OK, Mathew, Katy, and Emily Stevenson of Denison, TX, his father and step-mother Henry and Shirley Stevenson, his brother Larry Stevenson and wife Charlotte, his sisters Cathy Chen and husband Lin, and Anna Fleming and husband Brian and his girlfriend and loving caregiver, Charlotte McDaniel.
