David L. Pflipsen, 82St. CloudSept. 11, 1935 - Oct. 24, 2017Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of David L. Pflipsen, 82, of St. Cloud will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2017 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Dave passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Country Manor Senior Care Center in Sartell. Reverend Timothy Gapinski will officiate. Entombment will be at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.Dave was born on September 11, 1935 in Avon, Minnesota to John and Anna (Hiltner) Pflipsen. He proudly served in the Minnesota National Guard for 11 years. Dave graduated from St. Cloud Business College in 1955 and worked as Deputy County Auditor for Stearns County for 13 years. He also worked as the Accounts Payable Manager at the St. Cloud Hospital for 27 years, retiring in 1995. He married Evelyn Muellner on July 10, 1957 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Collegeville and they lived all of their married lives in St. Cloud. Dave was a charter member of St. Michael's Parish and a member of the St. Cloud Eagles Aerie #622.Dave was an avid bowler who earned many trophies. He also enjoyed reading and spending time at the cabin on Big Fish Lake where he had many great memories with his family and grandchildren. Dave will be remembered for his vocal debates on current issues and for always encouraging his children and grandchildren to further their education.He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evie of St. Cloud; children, Susie (Mark) Hoffarth of Clearwater, Vicki (Louie) Pfannenstein of St. Cloud, Jeff (Deb) of Plymouth; eight grandchildren; one great granddaughter; brother, Al; and sister -in-law, Addie Pflipsen.He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Robert, Harold, Edna
Smith and Marlin.A heartfelt thank you to the staff of Country Manor Campus, especially the Garden Cottage unit for their compassionate care.Memorials are preferred.
