David R. James, MD After a protracted battle with cancer, David Robert James passed away peacefully at home on March 22, 2017. He was 74. David was born on July 12, 1942 to Robert and Marimae (Matthews) James in Galesburg, IL. He married Wanda (Bailey) on November 22, 1966 in Yuma, AZ. David received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Colorado in June of 1967 and served as a Major in the US Army Medical Corps in Germany during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, David completed his Doctoral Internship at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, and his Residency in Radiology at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. David worked as a radiologist at South Sound Radiology for over 20 years until his retirement in 1996. He was a meticulous woodworker and gardener throughout his life. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and took great joy in nature and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wanda; his son, Eric, and daughter-in-law, Merry of Pocasset, MA; his daughter, Lara Forsness, and son-in-law, James of Terrebonne, OR; his granddaughters, Riley and Teagan James; and his sister, Bonnie Coffey, and her husband, Joe, of Boulder, CO; as well as many nieces and nephews.
