FORT WAYNE — David G. Rennecker, 53, a resident of rural Fort Wayne, passed away at 7:58 a. m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. He had been in failing health since May. Mr. Rennecker was born on July 11, 1961, in Fort Wayne, a son of Eugene L. and Dolores "Dee" (Weaver) Rennecker, and graduated from Northrop High School in 1980. On September 28, 1984, he was married in Fort Wayne to Cheryl Anne Levy, and lived most of his life in Washington Township in Allen County. He had been employed as a plumber and boiler operator for Allen County for the past 34 years. In his leisure time he greatly enjoyed all sorts of outdoor activities, and most especially loved and cherished his family. The surviving relatives include his wife Cheryl; two daughters, Heather Rennecker of Garrett and Deanna Rennecker at home; his mother, Dolores "Dee" Rennecker of Pleasant Lake; seven siblings, James (Marty) Rennecker of Columbia City, Joan Tweedy, Michael (Mary) Rennecker and Barbara (Gary) Berndt, all of Fort Wayne, Karen (Paul) Kozerski of Perrysburg, Ohio, Deborah (Steve) Gibson of Woodburn, and Joseph (Deb) Rennecker of Fort Wayne; his mother-in-law, Betty J. Levy of Fort Wayne; 24 nieces and nephews; and 31 great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Ronald P. Levy; and by a niece, Katie Rennecker. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 26, 2015, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Churubusco with Father David Carkenord the celebrant. The family will receive friends at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m., or after 10 a.m. Monday. The rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne. The family requests memorials be directed to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, 6316 Mutual Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46825; or for Masses.
