SSG(Ret) David S. KnudsenAge: 75 • Colchester/WillistonSSG(RET)David s. Knudsen 75, of Williston passed away peacefully at the VNA respite house on April 29, 2017, following a long illness. David proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War and retired from the US Army National Guard after 28 years of service as a helicopter crew chief. He retired as a machinist from GE. David was a VFW lifetime member and served as junior vice commander and chaplain of the 6689 Chapter Essex Jct. VT. He enjoyed painting, drawing , camping , going on long drives and spending time with family.David was born on December 6, 1941 in New Britain CT. David married the love of his life Ann Pauquette Knudsen of Colchester on December 20, 1986. They lived happily for 30 years in Colchester and Williston.He is survived by his daughters Tammy and her husband Josh Shields Scottsville KY., Erica and her husband Eric Ferguson, Grey ME. And their children Grace and Kate. His sister Connie Bemis, Ludlow VT and his nephews Scott and Shawn. His step children Kim and her husband George Plante of Sheldon VT and their son Matthew Chambers and David's great grandson Cameron. Chris Chambers and his wife Karen, of Colchester and their daughters Kori and Devan.A service with Military Honors will be held on May 24, 2017 at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph VT, at 900am. Following the service there will be a luncheon at Taft Farm Apartments, 10 Tyler way Williston Vermont. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VT VNA Respite House in Colchester VT, The Boys and Girls Club of Burlington VT. and the Lewy body dementia association.
