Dr. David S. MaddoxZANESVILLE: Dr. David S. Maddox, 88, of Zanesville died at 3:47 PM Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the Genesis Healthcare System following a brief illness. He was born on June 14, 1927 in Akron, Ohio, the son of Herbert V. Maddox and Marguerite (Stokely) Maddox.David was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and gave Glory to God for all his accomplishments. He was a true lifelong patriot, having been born on Flag Day, was an Eagle Scout, and was a member of the American Legion. He served in the United States Army and spent time at Camp Carson, Colorado. David graduated in 1950 from Miami University and then in 1955 from the Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry. He served his internship & residency at the Eastman Dental Dispensary and the Genesse Hospital in Rochester, New York. He was a Pediatric Dentist who practiced for 50 years in private practice and as the School Dentist for Zanesville City Schools Dental Program. He belonged to numerous Dental Associations, both local, state and national, including The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and was a Past President of the Ohio Society of Pedodontists. He was a lifetime member of the Ohio State Dental Association and was an honorary lifetime member of the medical/dental staff of Genesis Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sybil R. (Harris) Maddox, whom he married on June 30, 1956; a son, Dr. David S. (Anita) Maddox II of Gurnee, IL; three grandchildren, Kristen L. Maddox, Erik S. Maddox, and Hannele C. Maddox. Dr. David was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Robert S.
