David Springer, a pillar of the Tarzana community, passed away on November 29, 2024, at the age of 96. Born on October 6, 1928, David was a beloved figure known for his warm smile and kind heart. He was married to Rosalyn Springer (Roz) for 68 years. They had two children together, Alan Springer and Sandie Springer.

Dave was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Jack Springer (a regional manager for Sears) and Helen Finkle (owner of Danches Poultry). He had one sibling, George.

Dave graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in 1946 and then attended Ohio State University. After two years he left college to enter the family business. He met Roz in February of 1953 on a blind date and after a whirlwind romance they married in August 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio. After honeymooning in California they made the decision to stay and build a life together far from the cold winters of Ohio.

In 1955 his son Alan was born and in 1962 his daughter Sandie was born. Dave was a successful salesman and later went on to own R&S Label. After selling R&S Label he combined his business and sales experience to create the position of printing broker which he continued in until his retirement in 2000. Dave joined the Masons in 1963 and ultimately became Master of Home Lodge in 1975. Dave was an avid golfer, fisherman, poker player, and chef enjoying all these activities well into his 90’s. He and Roz enjoyed traveling the world beginning in the 1960’s and continuing until 2003.

Dave took great pleasure in family life appreciating the accomplishments of his children.  Alan became a pharmacist. Sandie became a successful equestrian both as a competitor and a teacher. She later imported horsed to train and sell.
