DAVID C. THOMAN, 61 WEST DUNDEE - David C. Thoman, 61, of West Dundee passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, surrounded by his family at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. Dave was a native of Freeport, IL and was born on June 3, 1951. He was the son of Delmar S. and Dorothy M. (nee Holtum) Thoman. Dave was baptized and confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in Freeport. He graduated from Freeport High School and went on to college to earn a degree in Civil Engineering. Dave worked for the Illinois Toll Authority and some private firms. One evening, while at Masi's Restaurant in West Dundee he met Debbie Falese, his future wife. Dave and Debbie married on Feb. 28, 1987, at the First Congregational Church in West Dundee and shared 26 years in a loving marriage. He enjoyed spending time with both his families, the Thomans and Faleses. Dave was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and snowmobiling in his beloved "up North". He enjoyed all sports, especially the Chicago White Sox. Dave also converted Debbie and some other family members (not to be named for their protection) to the Green Bay Packer's Family. Survivors include his wife, Debbie (nee Falese) Thoman; mother, Dorothy Thoman; sister, Sally (Stephen) Hoffman; mother-in-law, Jacqueline Falese; brothers-in-law, Joseph, Jr. (Kristen), Michael (Jill) and Daniel (Traci) Falese; nieces and nephews, Eric and Daniel Hoffman, Elena, Angela, Michael, Maria, Nicholas, Deana and Peter Falese; aunt, Betty Shockey; and countless faithful family and friends. Dave was preceded in death by his father, Delmar S. Thoman; father-in-law, Joseph Falese, Sr.; maternal and paternal grandparents; and aunts and uncles. Memorial Service celebrating Dave's life at noon Saturday, April 6, 2013, at First Congregational Church, 900 S. Eighth St. (Route 31) in West Dundee. The Rev. Aaron James, pastor will officiate. The Thoman and Falese families will be receiving family and friends at the church from 11 a.m. until time of the service.
