David Thomas GrantCamarillo, CADavid Thomas Grant, 28, of Camarillo, CA, was born on April 19, 1989 to James and Lori Grant, also of Camarillo, CA. David graduated from Rio Mesa High School and attended Moorpark College. David was a bright student and a natural athlete with a passion for baseball and his favorite football team, the Indianapolis Colts.David easily made friends with anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him with his warm disposition, easygoing sense of humor, and contagious laugh. David constantly drew inspiration from his surroundings and those who he was closest with; his loving family. Very much a free spirit, David loved adventure, the outdoors, and seeking new experiences. He enjoyed hiking, fitness, healthy living, and exploring the world around him. His artistic nature naturally emerged in a passion and talent for music which began at a young age. With inspiration and encouragement from his family, the guitar became his instrument of choice. A self-taught musician, David spent countless hours writing music and strumming the tunes that flowed through his creative mind. Continuing to follow his desire for growth and a richer life, he ventured to Arizona to broaden his experiences and opportunities. However, no matter how far he travelled, he never deviated from his roots and his desire to be closer to his family and friends. After three years in Arizona, David made his way back to California, his home, to seize creative opportunities with his music and to once again be near family and friends. Tragically, on June 25, 2017, David passed away following a car accident in Long Beach, CA. David is preceded in death by paternal grandparents Max and Phyllis Grant; maternal grandparents, Sheldon and Ruth Williams; and beloved maternal uncle, Bill Williams. He is survived by his parents, James and Lori Grant; his sister, Stephanie Grant; his aunt and uncle, Jim and Michele Williams; his aunts, Bonnie Williams, Kay Duff, and Melinda Phillips; and his cousins, Denise and Mike Bergin, Deanna Morgan, Doug and April Zimmerman, Jeremiah Phillips, Duane and Casey Williams, Ethan and Kim Phillips, Joshua Duff, David and Kristina Bowlin, and David and Jenna Williams. His amazing spirit and genuine joy for life will be celebrated at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Camarillo, CA, on Friday, July 7, 2017, at 11:00 a.m.
