David W. Pritchard, 74 years of age, a resident of Blairstown, N.J., and previously lived in Netcong, N.J. and South Gibson, passed away at home on December 20, 2015. He was born on July 27, 1941 in South Gibson, to Silas David and Ruth (Wilcox) Pritchard. He was a self-employed plumber, owner of Pritchard Plumbing and Heating, Blairstown, N.J. He apprenticed for many years under his brother, Frank Pritchard before taking the Master Plumbing License in July 1979. He started his own business under Pritchard Plumbing & Heating in Blairstown, N.J. He served in the Military Police in the US Army, for two years with Basic Training at Ft. Dix, N.J., and Fort Gordon, Ga., and was later based in El Paso, Texas. He was a member of The Safari Club International, Lehigh Valley Chapter, The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, The American Legion Post #0418, Columbia, N.J., and the National Rifle Association. He was a life-time member of the Eastern Chapter of the Wild Sheep Foundation. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother. He is survived by his son, David Pritchard, Jr and wife MaryBeth of Cresco; a daughter, Janet Buxbaum and husband Douglas of Mt. Bethel; three grandchildren, Bryan, Jonathan and Matthew Buxbaum; two brothers, Robert Pritchard and wife Edna of Melbourne, Fla., Frank Pritchard and wife Nancy of Lafayette, N.J.; and sister, June Di Rado of Binghamton, N.Y. He was predeceased by his wife, Nevia in 2012.A visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 PM, Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown, NJ 07825 (Use Columbia, NJ for GPS) with a funeral service at 11 a.m., Monday, December 28, 2015.
