David Wayne KimlerMarch 5, 1953 - March 18, 2017David W. Kimler, age 64, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 7:40 am at the Haven Hospice, Lake City, FL after a long battle with prostate cancer. The son of the late Wayne Kimler and Barbara (Rogers) Kimler of Indianapolis, IN, he was born on March 5, 1953 in Peoria, IL. At the time of his death David was employed at the Lake City Reporter/Community Newspapers, Inc. for over 14 years and prior the Marco Island Eagle Newspaper. David was an artist and involved with the Art League of North Florida and has donated paintings to the Gateway Gallery of Lake City. Always active in painting, sports, family, cooking, and his dog Gus.David is survived by his mother Barbara Kimler of Indianapolis, IN; son Jeffrey (Casey) Kimler; and grandchildren Addison and Andrew of Chillicothe, IL; daughter Samantha Kimler, Naples, FL; sister Cheryl (Jim Brown) Kimler, Indianapolis, IN, sister Theresa Kimler, Naples, FL and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A celebration of David's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the United Methodist Church of Bushnell, IL 390 Crafford St., Jim Brown (CSM Ret), officiating with messages from Geo. Pensinger and Cheryl Kimler. Friends may visit the family at church from 10:00 am to time of service. Memorials in the name of David may be offered to the Art League of North Florida.
