David Wayne Lyerly, 53, of Faith, passed away on Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at his home. He was the loving husband of Krista (Humphries) Lyerly to whom he was married 30 years. David was born on Feb. 26, 1963, to the late Wayne Lyerly and Sally (Parks) Freeze in Rowan County. He graduated from West Rowan High School and went on to graduate from Rowan Cabarrus Community College. He worked as an engineer for Gamewell Mechanical, Inc. in Salisbury for most of his life and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. David was an avid golfer and a member of the Warrior Golf Club in China Grove. He was a huge sports buff and a loyal fan of the Carolina Tar Heels and Dallas Cowboys. David's family was the most important part of his life and he loved them very much. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all. David is survived by his wife Krista Lyerly of Faith; his mother, Sally Freeze and step-father, Wayne Freeze of China Grove; his daughter, Jenna Lyerly of Faith; three sisters, Melinda Cranford and husband Charles of Woodleaf, Laura Alston and husband Hank of Kannapolis, and Lynne White and husband Matt of Cape Cod, Mass.; three nephews, Robert and Michael Wyrick, and Kieran White; two nieces, Brittany Ludwig and Sophie White; and three very special pets, Oakley, Dexter, and Lily. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Lyerly. Visitation and Service: A visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 9, from 10-11 a.m., at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike Shoaf and Rev. Dan Gobble officiating.
