Dayl Harold Bochler Obituary

Oct 13, 1961 - May 10, 2024

This obituary is administered by:

Dayl Harold Bochler, age 62, of North Freedom, passed away unexpectedly on Friday May 10, 2024 at his home. He was born on October 13, 1961 to Harold Gene Bochler and Carol Lavonne Hinze.

Dayl was working as a Security Shift Supervisor at Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells. Prior to becoming a Security Shift Supervisor, Dayl spent time as a Surveillance Agent. Dayl dedicated hard work, time, and admiration for the Security Department. He would go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that the people and property were safe from harm. Dayl did not stop until a task was completed entirely. Many employees, even outside of the Security Department, had a lot of love and respect for Dayl. He became a great friend to countless people throughout his 28 years of service with the Ho-Chunk Nation.

On June 6, 1984, Dayl was united in marriage with the love of his life Susan Ann Jernander. Dayl and Susan met in 1972 while in Junior High together where they would become best friends. They spent 33 loving years together before Susan passed away. Dayl’s love, loyalty, and affection for Susan continued to live on in his heart following her passing.

Dayl served in the United States Navy and earned the rank of Petty Officer First Class. He served aboard two nuclear submarines during his time in the Navy. Dayl was proud of his military service and the fellow service members he served with during his time in the service. He often reminisced about his time on the USS La Jolla along with the rest of his time on his journey across the globe

Dayl was a man known to be happy, friendly, outgoing, and passionate. He would give the shirt off his back to a friend or family member in need and would lend a helping hand to those he just met. There were very few times that Dayl would be seen without a smile on his face, singing, or dancing. Dayl had great appreciation for the outdoors. If Dayl was not outside enjoying his cabin in Phillips, WI or in a State Park, he was taking pictures of the scenery to share with others. Family and friends were very important to Dayl. He always would speak highly of loved ones and would spend an incredible amount of time with the ones who meant the most. Dayl spent countless hours doing Genealogy which helped him find dozens if not hundreds of cousins. He treated everyone as if they were family.

Survivors of Dayl include his father, Harold; brother, Darren; and his wife and daughters extended family. Loving cousins, Tylor Stone; Ron Mortimer; Joshua Ludke; Suzzanna Ludke; and Cory Cosgrove. Special friend, Jennifer Brimmer and many other close friends/coworkers.

Dayl was preceded in death by his mother, Carol and beloved wife Susan.
