Our beloved brother, uncle and friend, Dean Caruso (80) passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2nd.
Dean was born July 20th, 1944 to Mary (Arnone) & Jim Caruso in Magna, Utah. He was the 7th child of 8 and the youngest son in a small house overflowing with mischief, love and faith.
Dean had a special bond with his brother Tony. They spent their lives looking out for each other, perhaps with a little more bickering than necessary. But the care and concern the two of them had for each
other was very heartwarming. Dean has been heartbroken since Tony passed away nearly two years ago, so we have one consolation, is that knowing Dean has been reunited with Tony, their mother & father, Antoinette Bryant (sister), Rose Gilmore (sister), Johnny Caruso (brother), and many other family members. He is survived by his sister Fran (John Hardy), brother Jimmy (Jean Caruso) sister Carolyn (Ron Powell), and many nieces and nephews, Dean had a very special connection with his great great nephew Osiris, and we are sure he is his guardian angel now. Dean even though our hearts are saddened, we know you are walking and running freely like we did in our childhood days. As your baby sister(Carolyn) I’m going to miss coming out to see you and joking about the good ol’ days and how much mischief we would get into. We all love you and miss you beyond words!❤️🙏🥲
Dean spent the last decade of his life at Legacy House of Taylorsville, where he made several friends, and he had many kind people overlooking his care, especially Michelle Cockayne, Rose Draper, Jenny, Kari Linquist, Wendy Angel, Gaye, Ola, Gwen, Arceleli, Jamie, Darren, Candi, Skylar, and all the aides and nursing staff. Thanks to Inspiration Hospice, and special thanks to his hospice nurse Wendy. He loved all of you so much, and we are sure he is saying like he always did, “hi kid, how are you,” to each of you as he is watching over us.
Funeral services will be November 22, 2024 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church 4914 South 2200 West with a rosary at 11:00 AM and a funeral mass following at 11:20 AM.
