Dean E. StarrCAMBRIDGE: Dean E. Starr, age 61 of Cambridge, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at home, surrounded by his family. He was born on October 19, 1954 in Barnesville, a son of the late Samuel "Richard" Starr and Mabel (Cline) Starr. Mr. Starr was a 1972 graduate of Shenandoah High School. He then attended MATC. For the last 20 years he worked at G&J Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company in Zanesville. He was fondly known as the "Pepsi Guy" at many local grocery stores. Dean attended the 1st Baptist Church in Cambridge and enjoyed singing in the choir. He was a member of the Guernsey Lodge 66 F&AM where he had been a Past Master; and a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge. He enjoyed; home remodeling, flying his remote control planes, and going to the shooting range. He was a family man and really enjoyed his grandson. During his battle with cancer, he often said "friends, family and food are getting me through this". Dean is survived by: his wife of 37 years, Melba J. (Barthalow) Starr; their daughters, Megan (Mark) Atkinson of Cambridge and Mallory (Zac) Reed of Cambridge; a grandson Mason Dean Atkinson and a second grandson expected to arrive any day, Max Atkinson; two brothers, Dale (Lylan) Starr of Lancaster and Dan Starr of Port St. Lucie, FL; a brother-in-law Dale Yoder of Chattanooga, TN; and several nieces and nephews.Dean was preceded in death by: his parents, Richard and Mabel Starr; his mother-in-law Bessie Barthalow; a sister Nancy Yoder; and a sister-in-law Lorraine Starr.Visitation will be on Friday, September 30, 2016 at Bundy-Law Funeral Home from 4 to 8 pm with Masonic Services starting at 7 pm. His funeral service will be at Bundy-Law on Saturday, at 11 am with Pastor Dan Milburn officiating. Burial will follow in Northwood Cemetery.
