MOUNT AIRY, Maryland —Deane E. Parker, 82, of Mt. Airy, Maryland, formerly of Albion, died on Friday, Oct. 9, 2015. He was born on March 28, 1933, in Kendallville to the late Earle F. and Dorothy (Sherck) Parker. He was a 1951 graduate of Albion High School, and later graduated from George Washington University. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1961. He was married to Nancy S. (Neel) Parker from April 13, 1957, until April 27, 1976, and on Sept. 12, 1981, in Fall Church, Virginia, he married Nancy Brinkerhoff. She preceded him in death in January of 2007. Mr. Parker enjoyed HAM radio, fishing, and camping. He is survived by his sons, Sean (Cindy) Parker of Oakton, Virginia, Dale (Lorie) Parker, of Manassas, Virginia, and Kevin (Joyce) Parker of Mount Airy, Maryland. Also surviving are grandchildren, Daniel, Stephen, Rebecca, David, Ruthanne, Amanda, Kenneth, Michael, Jack, and Sam; and great-grandchildren, Collin, Sadie, Mackenzie, and Michael. He was preceded in death by sisters, June Chrisman and Pat Mohler, and a brother, Duane Parker. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion, with visitation one hour prior to service.
