Debbie S. MathewsPEORIA - Debbie S. Mathews, 59, of Peoria passed away peacefully at home, with her family at her side, on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017.She was the daughter of James O. and Karen (Sherrill) Smith, born on Jan. 16, 1958, in Pekin, IL. She married Jeff Mathews in Pekin, IL, in 1986.Debbie was a devoted mother and cherished her family before anything else. She was the past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles Lodge #265 in Peoria, IL, volunteering countless hours. She also served in the Illinois Air National Guard.She leaves her family to carry her memory on: husband, Jeff; father, Jim; sons, Tyler and Trenten; step-daughter, Nikki (Dan) Haley; brother, Alan (Deb Curry) Smith; sisters, Diane (Jody) Smith-Brown and Carla (Jeff) Ramlo; 3 grandchildren, Jayden, Gage and Hope; and sister-in-law, Paula Mathews.Debbie was preceded in death by her mother.Cremation rites have been accorded by Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Services.A celebration of life will be at the Eagles Lodge #265 in Peoria, IL, on Feb. 3, 2017, at 6 p.m.Family and friends are encouraged to reach out to the family with condolence.Memorials can be made to Illinois Cancer Care.
