RACINE - Delbert Allan “Del” Schatzman, 78, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016. He was born on March 1, 1938, the son of the late Delbert and Thelma (Gilbertson) Schatzman. Del was united in marriage to Kathryn “Kitty” Marcsis on May 31, 1958. He attended Washington Park High School and was in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1957. He was employed by the City of Racine for many years. Del was a Union Representative for the Racine Municipal Employees. Del enjoyed fishing on the Mississippi River in his younger days. Delbert is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Jeff) Spranger, grandchildren, Kathryn (Shane) Stephens and Jeff (Jenna Toutant) Spranger, sister, Lois (Jerry) Herman; brothers, James (Carolyn) Schatzman, Donald (Nancy) Schatzman, Gene (Susan) Schatzman, Johann (Darlene) Schatzman, Bruce (Trudy) Schatzman and Roger (Jeanette Golke) Schatzman. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends at the bar. He is preceded in death by his wife, Kitty on January, 7, 2005 and an infant daughter, Vickie on January 12, 1961. Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. Del will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery with full military honors. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
