Delbert Lynn McGeathy of Oscoda passed away on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 at his home, age 74. Delbert was born on Aug. 3, 1938 in Flint. He proudly served in the United States Air Force where he received training that would lead to a lifetime career in electronics. His creative approach to problem solving kept him gainfully employed at various companies until he retired from the General Motors Proving Grounds in 1995. He worked on the Apollo Program while employed by Boeing and was very proud of his small contribution towards man landing on the moon. His interest in the space program never diminished. He was a "positive thinker" and his own "force of nature." He kept things interesting for everyone around him. He was father to June and stepfather to five others, Joe, Ralph, and Frank Davis, also Pam and John Gordon. Delbert is also survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Susan Gordon. Also surviving are daughter, June Boudreaux of Biloxi, Miss.; grandsons, Eric, Adam and Joshua; and four great grandsons, all residing in the Biloxi area; sisters, Marjory Osborn and Darline Reinhardt of the Flint and Ruskin, Fla. areas; and many nieces and nephews. Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Doris (Carston); and nine other siblings. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in the spring of 2013 at a date to be determined.
