Delmar E. CrispStuart, FLDelmar E. CrispApril 20, 1919-March 13, 2017 of Stuart, FLDelmar (Del) Crisp went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, March 13, 2017. He was 97 years young and had been in failing health the past 2-3 years with complications from Dementia. He was born on Easter Sunday, April 20, 1919, to Clifford H. and Elmina (Rainey) Crisp in Hillsdale, Michigan. He married the love of his life Betty J. (Osborne) Crisp on August 19, 1944. They were a beautiful example of Christian marriage. Del and Betty owned Stautzenberger Business School in Toledo, Ohio from 1956 - 1958. He was active member of First United Methodist Church, Stuart, Florida for 38 years, serving as president of the XYZ club for three years which grew to over 100 members.Del and Betty retired in 1978 and moved to Hidden Harbour Estates in Stuart, Florida. Del served on the Hidden Harbour board of directors and participated in many activities of the condominium association. He served as treasurer of Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel (MARSP) Treasurer Coast Chapter for over 15 years and was awarded the Distinguished Service Award in Lansing, MI in 2000. He is predeceased by his parents, his brother, Wayne R. Crisp, and daughter Mary Elizabeth who died at birth.He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Crisp, of 72 years; daughter Marjorie (Ball) (Eugene Jr.) Haas of Hastings MI; son Robert Wayne (Connie) Crisp of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren: Andrea (Ball) Schiappacasse, Southgate, MI; Shannon (Ball) (Don) Perez Shelby Township, MI; Michael Ball, Berkley, MI; Heather (Haas) West, Parchment, MI; Rachael Haas, Kalamazoo, MI; Eugene L. (Julie) Haas III, Charlotte, NC; Robert Brian (Brandy) Crisp of Las Vegas, NV; and Lara Crisp, Loveland, CO; great-grandchildren Ashley (Anthony) Olivares, Jordan West, Allison West, John Paul Haas, Thomas Perez, Joseph Perez, Thomas Schiappacasse, and one great-great grandson, Lincoln Fitzgerald Olivares.Visitation will be Sunday, March 19, at First United Methodist Church, 1500 S. Kanner Hwy., Stuart, FL, at 2:00 followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. A social gathering will be held at Hidden Harbour Clubhouse. Cremation will take place after the service with ashes interred at Oaklawn Cemetery, Hillsdale, Michigan at a later date.
