Delora "Dee" Allen Lawrence85, of Indianapolis, passed away on May 10, 2017.  She was born on January 15, 1932 to the late Lee and Eller Smith Broughton. Dee was employed 12 years at Kohl's in jewelry sales, retiring in 2012. She married John R. Allen on December 1, 1951 and he precedes her in passing. On August 3, 1989 she married Edwin Lawrence and he survives. Dee was known for the flowers she grew, and also enjoyed gardening and cooking.Dee is survived by her husband Edwin; children John (Bev) Allen, Barbara Allen, Michael Allen, Philip (Lori) Allen, Deborah Logsdon; step-children Diana (J.R.) Jackson, Bonnie (Mark) Crisp; siblings Charlie (Lavetta) Broughton, Bufhard (Karen) Broughton, Randall (Phyllis) Broughton; 15 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in passing by her parents, husband John Allen, three sisters and six brothers.Services for Dee will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Rocklane Christian Church. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 12 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center and one hour prior to service time at the church. Entombment will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial gifts can be made to the donor's favorite charity.
