Deloris Banks was born on November 1, 1964 to proud parents Barbara Griffith-Collins and Alan Griffith (deceased).
Deloris graduated from Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Elementary school during her younger years. She attended Harper High School where she received her high school diploma.
Deloris married the love of her life Benjamin Banks (deceased) in 1982. They had two beautiful daughters together.
Deloris confessed her life to Christ at an early age. She then became a choir director at Holy Light Missionary Baptist Church, which later became Genesis Missionary Baptist Church
Deloris was a fighter. She battled through many health issues in her later years, but she never let that get in the way of her love for life and her family. She was a devoted mother to her two children Kenyada and Naria, and was a proud grandmother to her three grandchildren.
Deloris gained her wings on May 31, 2023. She leaves: her mother Barbara (Paul): two daughters Kenyada and Naria: her three grandkids Makhieya, Tyrell, and Marquis: Her sister Patricia (Leanthony): Her niece Tashanti: Her nephew Leanthony (Courtney), and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws, and friends.
Those who knew Deloris will remember her for her infectious smile, her unwavering kindness, and her unparalleled strength of character. Her legacy will live on throughout those whose lives she touched, and her impact on the world will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace Deloris. You will be missed, but your spirit will live on through all those who love you.
