It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deloris Mitchell, who left us on February 24th, 2025, at the age of 28. She was born on April 2nd, 1996 to Eva Chatman-Brown and Lowane Mitchell in San Antonio, TX.
Deloris is survived by her beloved Husband, Lenyn Catalan; her daughters Raelynn Catalan, Anahi Catalan, and Naomi Catalan ; and siblings: April Chatman-Mitchell, Lowane Mitchell Jr, and Jacob Brown. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Curtis Chatman, a sister Aaliyah, and a parent Lowane Mitchell.
Deloris graduated from Highlands High School and worked at an Elementary for 6 years and just got a promotion last year to office administration. Her passions included Teaching Kids, being a mom to her kids, and singing in the church choir. She was also known for her love of Mexican music and being a very good dancer. Deloris was a valued member of Zion Star Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a highly respected choir member ever since she was able to talk.
A Memorial Gathering will take place on March 1st, 2025 at Lewis Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until the time of her Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM. A graveside service at Meadowlawn Cemetery will immediately follow. A Luncheon will held at Zion Star after the burial.
Deloris was a vibrant soul with a contagious smile and a kind heart. She touched the lives of those around her with her compassion, generosity, and unwavering positivity. Deloris had a passion for music, travel, and making memories with her family. Her departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her spirit will continue to live on in the cherished memories she leaves behind. Rest in peace, Deloris.
