Dennis Bernard Hamilton of Painted Post, NY passed away surrounded by his family at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY on August 3, 2017 at the age of 57. Dennis (Gramps) was born on June 21,1960 in Corning New York, the son of the late Bernard R. Hamilton and Betty (Downey) Hamilton. He was a graduate of Corning-Painted Post West High School, class of 1978. Dennis owned and operated Lawrenceville Collision for many years. In addition he was employed by Wheelers, Chilson-Wilcox and Darrow's Motor Company.Dennis had many interests including country music and line dancing which he taught for several years. He enjoyed camping at the family homestead in Potter County, PA. He was a member of the YMCA and was an avid walker. Over the years, he kept in touch with dozens of Facebook Friends.Dennis is survived by his sisters Connie Hamilton of New Britain, CT, Sharon (David) Sadler of Vernon CT, Pamela (James King ) Folmar of Corning, NY; a brother David (Cindy) Hamilton of Painted Post, NY and his lifelong friend Mike Gerow. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends at Acly-Stover Funeral Home, 327 E Second Street in Corning, NY. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. Services will follow calling hours at 8 p.m. with Pastor Jeffrey Becker officiating.
