ANGOLA — Dennis "Mike" Gatke Sr. died Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at home. He was a retired truck driver and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was born on June 26, 1934, in Indianapolis to the late Donald E. and Lucile (Adrus) Gatke. Surviving are his wife, Janis (McQueen) Gatke; three sons, Michael Gatke of Coldwater, Michigan, Mark Gatke of Fort Wayne, and James Gatke of Oakland, California; two daughters, Michele Gatke of Auburn and Susan Scott of Fort Wayne; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Thomas Gatke of North Vernon, Edward Gatke of Fort Wayne and Curt Gatke of Warsaw. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Greg A. and Peter F. Gatke. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 14, at 2 p.m. at Fairview Missionary Church in Angola, with Pastor Norm Fuller officiating.
