Loretz , Dennis HoyleDennis Hoyle Loretz, SMGT USAF Retired, a former resident of Prattville passed away on June 21, 2017 at the age of 96. He was born on March 4, 1921 in Des Arc, Arkansas to John Fred Loretz, Sr. and Ethel Gertrude (Davis.) He graduated from Des Arc High School and at the age of 19 joined the
Army Air Corp. He met his future wife, Sgt. Mildred Beatrice Orr at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. They were married on September 10, 1945 and had 3 daughters, Janice, Sandra, and Denise.Dennis spent 28 years in the
U.S. Air Force, serving during
World War II, the
Korean Conflict, and the Viet Nam War. Bea and the girls traveled all around the country with Dennis and were stationed at many bases in the states and Guam. In 1971 he retired in Las Vegas Nevada and worked in several casinos until they moved to Lake Panasoffkee, Florida. He and Bea were active members of the Lake Panasoffkee United Methodist church for many years.Dennis leaves behind 3 daughters, 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.After 28 years in Florida, he and Bea moved to Alabama and joined the Millbrook First United Methodist Church. A few years after Bea's passing he relocated to Maryland. His beloved wife, Bea, passed away on June 8, 2011 and has held his spot at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida until June 30, 2017 when he will finally join her in peace. Dennis was a loving husband, father, and Grandca who will be missed.
