Dennis E. Strausser, SrDecember 19, 1942 - September 14, 2017LebanonDennis E. Strausser, Sr., 73, stepped into eternity on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at his residence. He was the husband of Patricia A. Kercher Blouch Strausser. Dennis was born on December 19, 1942, son of the late Irvin and Myrle Strausser. Dennis served in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired machinist at CarTech in Reading and had been a police officer for West Cornwall Twp. Dennis was a member of Quentin UCC, where he sang in the choir. He was a volunteer at the Lebanon Valley Home of the UCC, Annville, active as a volunteer at the Union Canal and a member of the Jonestown Male Chorus. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F&AM, Lebanon, where he was recently honored for his service to Boy Scouts of America by the Masonic Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania. Dennis was very involved with Boy Scouting with Troop 446, as chaplain and was chaplain at Camp Bashore and had received the Silver Beaver Award. Dennis loved music, playing his guitar, exercise, biking and travel.Dennis is survived, in addition to his wife, by children, Dennis E. Strausser, Jr. of Lebanon, Kathleen, wife of Leo Drzewiesky of Newmanstown, Jason, husband of Sara Strausser of Lebanon; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Crisco of NC, and Grace, wife of George Nicolaisen of Lebanon. In addition, he is survived by stepchildren, Lisa, wife of John Moser of Lebanon, Todd, husband of Olivia Blouch of Lebanon, Jody, wife of Kolin Kriner of New Albany and six step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Haldeman Strausser. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Dennis' life on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 2 PM from Quentin UCC, Quentin. A reception will follow the service.
