This obituary is administered by:

In honor of a beloved Son,Father,Brother and Coach Deon Monterill Graves Sr, gained his wings on June 19, 2024, at the age of 54. Deon was born on July 6, 1969, in Midvale, Utah, to his loving parents Arthur Lee Graves and Beatrice Brooks and to 7 siblings(Lionel , Darnelious, Derrick, Sonya, Chris, Shakara and Fatty’so).

Deon was a devoted father to his three children, Deon Graves Jr, Deontae Graves, and Gianna aka G-Baby. He was also a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren.

Deon attended Stagg High School and graduated in 1988. He furthered his education at Delta College and then William Penn University. After finishing his education he became actively involved in the community. Deon was a passionate person, he loved basketball and would always tried to teach it to any and everyone he knew or came in contact with. He spent countless hours on the court, sharing the love of the game with the kids in the community through programs like YMCA and countless others. He eventually went on to founding his own AAU team after being under Stockton Heat he developed Stockton knight and Lady Knights. He love the game so much after he retired from coaching he continued to referee to stay connect to game.

Despite the sadness of his passing, we choose to remember Deon with a smile on our faces, like he would always have a big cheesy smile. He brought laughter and joy to all who knew him, was a life adviser to most of the kids in came in contact with and was supportive of his player, he looked out for them like family and his memory will live on in our hearts forever. To know Deon is to know love, Rest in peace, Deon.
