On Saturday July 25th 2020, Derek Forrest Sr has passed away at the age on 79. Derek was born on February 27,1941 in Spring Valley, NY where he spent most of his childhood helping raise his younger siblings. He graduated from the University of Albany in 1964 where he earned is degree in Law. Since he's practiced business law in Long branch, NJ for 32 years. In 1983 he married Willie Mae and they raised 3 sons Courtney Forrest Sr, Robert Forrest, Derek Forrest Jr and a daughter Sallie Forrest. 

Derek loved sports and went to most of his boys football games and sporting events. He also loved nature and often went fishing. Many people knew him as being caring and was also a family man. Derek and his wife spent there earlier years in Spring Valley, NY. In 1995 Derek and his wife started building a family home in New Jersey and in 1997 they completed the project. After completing the home the family has lived there ever since. Derek is survived by his wife of 37 years; Willie May, his 3 sons; Courtney Forrest Sr, Derek Forrest Jr and Robert Forrest and his daughter; Sallie Forrest.
