Destiny Marie Hunter Obituary

Until we meet again

Destiny was a beautiful child that was years wiser than her age. She was born on May 26th, 2008. She was blessed to have several mothers and family that loved her. She was raised by Jennifer Glover from six weeks up until she was 9 years old when she returned back to Virginia to live with Erica. Destiny loved to play with her dolls and do their hair. She wanted their hair to be pretty like hers. She also loved to read and go to church. She was brought up in the church and prayed several times a day. She attended Dunlieth Elementary up to 4th grade. One of her many nicknames was Mooka. Mooka loved music, and to dress up and sing. She could be caught in the mirror singing her favorite Jill Scott song. Her smile was infectious, you couldn't help but smile back at her.  She was sassy but would nurse you back to health if you didn't feel good. She would get you together and the next minute tell you she loved you. She was definately one of a kind.

Destiny leaves behind her village that raised her.

Jennifer Glover (Mother), Keyona Askew (Mother), Ebony Roberson (Mother), Tyrosha Evans (Godmother), Lena Mae Harris (Aunt) Shirley Glover (Aunt) and Liz LeGrant and a host of other uncles, aunts and cousins that loved her.

I had the privilege of being one of Destiny’s teachers for 3 years at Dunleith Elementary. When I met Destiny, I was a first year teacher, fresh out of college. Destiny taught me so much during my first few years teaching. She challenged me to be creative, patient, and flexible. She was a natural born leader and my best helper in class. She was very special to me during my time at Dunleith and will always have a place in my heart. Though the news of her untimely passing hurts, I take comfort in the fact she has gone on to be with Lord. Rest well sweet pea, love you always. -Ms. O

Ms. Personality, that was Destiny; she would greet me every day in Before School at Dunleith with her big smile and a story to tell. You could see her beautiful soul through her eyes. We have missed you since you left your Dunleith Family. Rest In Peace beautiful Destiny. Loving and missing you, Mrs. Tapia

It is still so unbelievable that Destiny does not grace this earth any longer. She was my 2nd grade student and while she had big personality, she was absolutely adorable. I will remember her, her personality and her confident attitude. There was nothing that could stop this little girl. There will never be another Destiny Marie. With all my love, Mrs. Sharon Kleckley
