Dewayne L. Cantrell was born on December 6, 1956, to Patricia C. Lewis and John Sinfield in Atlanta, Georgia. Dewayne was the oldest of eight children.

Dewayne grew up with four brothers and three sisters in Lynwood Park Community of Dekalb County. He received his early education from Dekalb County school system.

Dewayne entered eternal rest on July 1, 2018, where he is joined in heaven with his mother, Patricia "Trish", and his sister Valerie Cantrell Evan.

At an early age, Dewayne accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and joined Zion Baptist Chruch in Dorville, Georgia. Dewayne later changed his membership to Liberty Outreach C.O.G.I.C of College Park, Georgia.

Dewayne was a loving husband to Belinda G. Cantrell and father of four sons, Deon, Dewayne Jr.(Donna), Rontae, and Rico;Amani,Dezzie,Davontae,Deonna,DaQuarius,CJ,and Jabre;sisters,Pamela Cantrell,Bonita Shepard(Ricky), Darrell Cantrell(Tabetha), Daniel Lewis (Wanda), Douglas Lewis, Clarence Lewis;two sisters-in-law,two aunts,and a host of nieces,nephews,cousins,other relatives, and friends.
