Dewey Don KingAbilene, TXDewey Don King, 71, of Abilene, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at a a local hospital with family at his side. A visitation will be held for friends and relatives from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Monday, July 10, 2017 at North Park Assembly of God, 1918 Jameson Street in Abilene. Mr. King will be laid to rest at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas at a later date. Arrangements for cremation were entrusted to Abilene Funeral Home. Don was born on August 4, 1945 in Memphis, Texas to Dewey L. and Oma King and raised by his grandparents, Raymond and Rillie King. He worked hard in the oilfield for many years. Don opened up his own company (Fasco Oil) and was in business for himself over ten years before retiring. Through it all, he was good father, grandfather and friend. We will always love him, miss his wonderful smile and friendship, may he rest in peace. Survivors include his two sons, Larry King and wife, Tamela, Shannon King and wife, Amie; five grandchildren, Lindsey Mayo (JD), Ryan King, Kaitlyn King, Zak King and Baylee King; a great-granddaughter, McKlain Mayo; along with brothers, Johnny King and Richard King; and sisters, Sybil Wilson and Bobbi Gibbons. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Dewey L. and Oma King; his parents and grandparents, Raymond and Rillie King; his step-mother, Ruby King; and a brother, Ronnie King.
