DEWEY E. KING JR.December 7, 1926 - April 7, 2016Dewey E. King Jr., age 89, passed away of natural causes on April 7, 2016 at his home in Caldwell. Dewey was born on December 7, 1926 in Carsonville, Missouri to Dewey and Mildred (Fleeman) King, the first of seven siblings. In November 1944, Dewey enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946 and located to Phoenix, where family had moved. Several years later, he moved to Los Angeles and married Vivian McCarty. They raised five children: Jim (Cathy), Tracy, Allen (Mitzie) King, Linda (Richard) Glasson, and Karen (Bill) McGuire. Dewey worked in construction, driving ready mix trucks and finishing concrete. In 1975, he moved to Caldwell, Idaho. In 1977, he married Nancy Richcreek and gained five children: Randy (Lora), Lonnie, Pat (Annette), Doug (Rita) Vance, and Lisa (Mike) Jorgensen. Dewey and Nancy remained married 38 years. Dewey then worked for Vallivue School District #139 as a bus driver, custodian, and mail delivery.Dewey was a lifetime member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Tracy, brothers Art and Ernie, sisters Loretta, Juanita, Martha and stepson Lonnie. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 7 great -grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Dakan Funeral Chapel Tuesday, April 12, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Canyon Hill Cemetery following the funeral service. A viewing will be on Monday, April 11, from 6-8 p.m. at Daken Chapel. Dewey, you will be missed as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great - grandfather, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend.
