Diana Rogers, born on October 15, 1947, in Hominy, Oklahoma, to Jack R. Rogers and Marion B. Rogers, gracefully departed this world on January 9, 2024, in the enchanting city of Savannah, Georgia. She reunites in eternity with her beloved parents, Jack and Marion Rogers. Diana is survived by her cherished brother, Jack R. Rogers, Jr., and leaves behind a legacy in the hearts of her nephews: Michael C. Rogers (Rachel Rogers), Bryan N. Rogers (Lindsay Rogers), and Brandon T. Rogers.
Oh, what an extraordinary woman Diana was! Her passion for music ignited in her early years in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she diligently took piano lessons. A graduate of Nathan Hale High School, she further pursued her love for music at Oklahoma Baptist University (OBU), earning a Bachelor of Music degree. Diana's radiant spirit shone through various pageants, including Miss Tulsa and Miss Oklahoma, where she not only participated but also received accolades, including the title of Miss Congeniality—a fitting honor for those who knew the genuine warmth she exuded.
Diana's journey in the world of music began in New Orleans, where she founded an all-girl band on the iconic Bourbon Street. Her career spanned across the United States, gracing cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, and culminating in the vibrant pulse of New York City. She enchanted audiences at esteemed venues such as Nino's, Waldorf, and Helmsley Palace. Her talents transcended borders, reaching international stages in Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, and Italy. For the past two decades, Savannah, Georgia has been home, and Diana continued to captivate audiences at Suzabelle’s, The Pink House, Vic’s, and La Scala. A SCAD short film released in 2017 showcased her life and time in Savannah, earning a place among the top ten films.
Diana was not only a musical virtuoso but also a fashion icon. Her love for entertaining was evident in her stylish attire, adorned with formal dresses, jewelry, and an array of eccentric hats that became her signature. Her historic home in Savannah was a testament to her eclectic tastes, providing a backdrop for countless gatherings with dear friends.
Diana Rogers was undeniably one-of-a-kind, gifted beyond measure. The void left by her passing is immeasurable, and words cannot adequately convey our grief. Yet, we are grateful for the privilege of sharing a life with her and cherish the indelible memories she leaves behind.
Though Diana's time with us was cut short, she lived an extraordinary life surrounded by adoring friends and family. Please join us in celebrating the remarkable life of this special person at Fox and Weeks Chapel, 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA. Visitation will be held on January 13, 2024, at 1 pm, followed by a ceremony at 2 pm. In honoring Diana's memory, let us find solace in the beautiful symphony of her life and the joy she brought to us all. She will be profoundly missed but forever remembered.
