Beach, DianeSalisbury-Diane Odell Beach died October 16, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on August 13, 1952 to wonderful parents, Fitzhugh Bland Odell, Sr and Dorothy Cordon Powers Odell in Newport News, Va.Her family moved to Salisbury, in 1967. She graduated from James M. Bennett Sr High School in 1970. She married her handsome high school sweetheart, Joseph D. Beach Jr, in 1970. They located in High Point, NC where Diane worked for Thomasville Furniture Industries while Joe attended High Point College.They moved back to Salisbury in 1974 where she went to work at the Lower Shore Sheltered Workshop between 1975-1977. Diane and Joe had one beautiful child, Joseph Douglas Beach, III. Diane was a stay at home mom for approximately 15 years. During that time, she taught aerobics for 7 years for Aerobics In Dance. She worked for Kuhn's Jewelers on a part-time basis during Christmas and vacations for several years. Diane also attended Salisbury University on a part time schedule and graduated summa cum laude in 1991 with a BA in Philosophy. Diane worked for the Department of Social Services in Wicomico and Worcester Counties between 1993 and 2014 as a Human Service Specialist.Diane volunteered her time at the Joseph House Crisis Center and PGH in the 1980s. She joined Trinity UMC in Salisbury in 1977 where she served on several administrative committees and taught Sunday school as a young adult. She played bridge and loved to dance and go out on the family boat during the summer. She also loved to play the slots. But her passion was her family and her girlfriends. She was very blessed and grateful to have such a wonderful support system.Besides her husband Joe, and son Douglas, she is survived by her grandson, Ty Beach of Salisbury; siblings Theresa Dubsky (Jim) of Marietta, GA, Bland Odell (Gwynn) of Woodstock GA, Randolph Odell (Debbie) of Chapin, SC, and sister-in-law Lynn B. Harris of Salisbury. She is also survived by an extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins.Diane is preceded in death by her parents and in laws, Doug and Jean Beach.Diane donated her body to the Maryland Anatomy Board.A memorial service will take place at Trinity UMC, Rt 50, Salisbury, MD at 11:00AM on October 22, 2016. The family may be greeted an hour prior to the service. The Rev.
