Feit, Diane J. Apr. 4, 1941 - Sep. 20, 2015 Diane J. (Zaconick) Feit, 74, of Bedford, MA, formerly of Sarasota, FL, died on Sunday, September 20, at the Belmont Manor Nursing Center in Belmont, MA, after a long illness. She is survived by her children Sonja Wang (Teddy) of Bedford, MA, Noah Feit (Deepika) of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Linda (Patrick) Totty of Larkspur, CA, Sandra Zaconick; and three grandchildren, Michelle, Jacob and Dylan Wang. She was predeceased by her husband, William Law Weatherwax and her parents. Diane was born on April 4, 1941 in Hollywood, FL, daughter of Harold and Natalie (Goldstein) Zaconick. She was raised in Florida and graduated from South Broward High School. Diane attended Syracuse University and earned her Master's in Education. She resided in Albany, NY for most of her life and began her career as an elementary school
teacher in Niskayuna, NY. She went on to work for the Albany County Probation Department for 20 years, retiring as the deputy director of the entire department. Upon her retirement, Diane moved to Sarasota, FL, where she resided until moving to her daughter's home in Bedford, MA, due to her declining health, in 2011. Diane was dedicated to a life of public service. She was president of the New York State Probation Officer's Association and was closely involved in Albany politics. In Sarasota, she was the president of her Condominium Association and volunteered actively, including facilitating a group for chemically addicted new mothers. She loved to exercise and lived an active life, which included her love for tennis, golf, bicycling, swimming and walking. She also enjoyed traveling, socializing and reading.
