Diane Marie Westendorf, 65, of Cedar Falls, and formerly of Waverly, died on Dec. 11, 2016, in her home of natural causes.Diane was born on Dec. 16, 1950, in Waverly, the daughter of Wilma M. (Leisinger) and Lester L. Westendorf. Following the death of her mother in 1967, Diane lived with her Aunt Lucinda and Uncle George Webster. She attended school in Waverly, and graduated from Waverly-Shell Rock High School in 1969, and then graduated from Ellsworth Community College in 1971. Diane worked at Riverside Book and Bible for many years. At the time of her death, she worked at Dusk to Dawn professional pet sitting service in Cedar Falls. She was known to be a very reliable and trusted member of the pet sitting team, and had many special relationships with the pets and their owners. Diane is survived by her brother, Dave (Vicki) Westendorf, of Waverly; three nieces and one nephew; several great nieces and nephews; and her dog, Cooper. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1967; her father in 1978; and one brother and one sister in infancy.According to Diane's wishes, her body has been cremated. In her memory, there will be a Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly.
