This obituary is administered by:
Diann MitchellDoyline - Beverly Diann Taylor Mitchell went Home to her Lord on Friday evening, October 20, 2017 surrounded by her family.Diann was born on August 18, 1957 in Urania, Louisiana. She married her high school sweetheart, David N. Mitchell in July 1975, following graduation from Bossier Academy, after serving as Valedictorian of her graduating class. She went on to receive her Associate's Degree in Nursing from Northwestern State University and a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Grambling State University. After graduating, she began her career as a Labor and Delivery Nurse at Bossier Medical Center. She eventually transitioned beyond the OB setting to Recovery Room work at the new Red River Surgery Center. Whether it was witnessing their miracles or bringing some form of comfort, what Diann learned she truly loved about Nursing was the bond that was made with her patients and their families as she cared for them. She considered Nursing to be her Ministry and to so many families, Diann was not only a Nurse, but an Angel on Earth. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, good food and trips to the beach. Her grandchildren were a source of tremendous joy to her. Diann's bright smile and quick laughter will be greatly missed, but her light will continue to shine in the hearts of everyone who knew her.Diann leaves her loving husband of over forty years, Dave; her daughter Amy (and Jacob), and grandchild Anna of Eugene, Oregon; son David (and Brandy), and grandchildren Sydney and Shane of Doyline, Louisiana; daughter Sara (and Daniel), and grandchildren Henry and Adele of Haughton, Louisiana; brother Gary (and Karlene) of Olla, Louisiana; and sister Brenda (and Howard) of Benton, Louisiana; along with many precious family members and friends who are family members. She is preceded by her parents, Louis and Beryl Taylor and her brother, James Taylor. The family wishes to say a special thank you to her work family at Red River Surgery Center for their unwavering support of her throughout her illness, and to her Sunday School family at First Baptist Church of Haughton for being a constant source of strength and care, not only for her, but for her family, as well. God Bless You All.Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Monday, October 23, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Haughton, Louisiana. Funeral services will also be held at First Baptist Church in Haughton at 10am on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, with graveside service to follow at Camp Zion Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of Diann's lifelong devotion to bringing comfort and care to others be made to the Benevolence Fund at fbchaughton.org.
