Dicksie W. HeilmanLancasterDicksie W. Heilman, 86, passed away peacefully at Magnolias of Lancaster, Lancaster, Pa., where she was endearingly known as "Dancing Dicksie". Dickise was born on January 13, 1930, in Little Rock, Ark. to William Thomas Carman and Christine F. Deleuil Carman, both deceased. She was raised in Louisville, Ky. and married Alvin T. Wilson on October 23, 1954. After her husband passed away, Dicksie was fortunate enough to fall in love again and married Jack Heilman, who also preceded her in death.Before moving to Pennsylvania, she made her home in Tyler, Texas, where she lived for more than 25 years. Dicksie worked at General Electric/Trane where she began as a secretary and diligently worked her way up in the company. She retired from Trane after more than 30 years of service. Dicksie served in the Peace Corps in her younger years, thoroughly enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling, and more than anything, she loved to dance. Dicksie is survived by her sister, Dorothy R. Kelley of South Carolina; nieces and nephews, Gina Slenker and husband Ken, Red Lion, Joann Kelley, South Carolina, William J. Kelley, York, Robert E. Kelley and wife, Robin, Windsor, Teresa Kelley, York, Kevin Carman, Louisville, Ky., Ken Carman, Louisville, Ky.; and seven great-nieces and nephews; and nine great-great-nieces and nephews. John W. Keffer Funeral Home on Mt. Rose Avenue is handling the arrangements. There will be a private viewing on August 8, 2016, at Resthaven Cemetery in Louisville, Ky. where she will be laid to rest.
